I am intersted in myth, mythology, archetypes, reality and the relationes, which take place among them. In my pictures I am trying to get directly to the subconsciousness, making use of subthreshold reception of the form, I want to evoke interest in the substans. The substans, whose semantic field I determined in the realisation of The Golden Bough in 1990. The whole is devoted to the Tree. The Tree, which thanks to magical procedures, changes from an ordinary object into a subject of worship. In the metaforical stratum I ilustrate the customary way of creating the religion according to all the obligatory rules. Rules, which were modified, the civilisation being developed, their purpose, however, has not been changed. No matter the name of the god, no matter where he comes from, the fabular elements always remain the some and unchangable. Each time young and beautiful, each time loved by the Great Godness, he is a great loss and brings up misery for the mournful world, in order to save which the god must resurect. Death and resurection, mourning and joy can be seen cleary as oppositions in all of the religions.
The Tree is for me a pretext for showing the obligation to look for the motivation to live. In the dispersing world we are trying to find the Order, The Creative Force, God (no matter how we call it). We are trying to answer the question where we come from, who we are, where we are going to. We are searching for the Origin of existence and create the god, the religion, the religion, the ceremonies. In my workes I try to watch that kind of searching. I penetrate the beliefs, myths, rituals, legends, holy books, esoteric writtings, philosophical works, the literature. In my searches I find traces of signs, toposes, which I try to put toghether to make a logic unity. I want to show how a myth changes from a personal experience into a description of reality. My world resembles a Labyrinth, a Garden of Separathing Paths - a Tree.
I have choosen the Tree; because in the whole history of humanity, it is a basic symbol, it is present always in all types of cosmogonies. The human Cosmos is full of Holy Trees. However, it is not very ofen the subject of worship. Much more freguently it is a symbolic depiction of the being superiour to it. This being may become the subject of worship. The Tree is a symbol of the periodic character of the cosmic transformation: death and rebirth.
The Tree joins together three levels of the cosmos: the ground-through the roots; the surface of the underground - through the trunk; the sky - through the branches and the top.
The Tree is the symbol of life, in the permanent development in rising to the sky.
The Tree as the Axis of the World - through the contact with the Earth and the Sky - is the personification of the relationes between these spheres.
It has a central character.
Through the Tree the rulers come down and go up - the mediators between the Eart and depiction of the being superiour to it. This being may become the subject of worship.

Through the Tree come down also the Sun and the Moon. In the religions of the East it personifies the mythological ancestor.
These are only the basic traces developed in different cultures. The Tree, as the base of a myth, helps me to show the events which took, take and will take place always in every place and every time, if you stop to treat the symbolic depictions as reality, and the events-depicted as individual experiens. And it does not matter if the fact are real or impossible. The first man knows, that his god is only a wooden sculpture, but believs in its creative power. We, by comparison do the same thing. We undergo the ceremonies and become ourselves the slaves of our own imaginations.
